Welcome to the Garage!  Garage 142 is a Makerspace in the Computer Science department at the University of Calgary. It is available to all undergraduate and graduate students with a major or minor in Computer Science (CPSC) or Computational Media Design (CMD).  To become a member and gain access to the space, students must attend a safety training. Check the calendar for safety training times. Alternatively, contact joshua.horacsek@ucalgary.ca  to arrange a safety training session.

Already a member?  Sign in here when using the space and tell us about your project. Sustained and increased interest can lead to more equipment for the Makerspace

Garage 142 is a Makerspace in the Computer Science department at the University of Calgary, started in Fall 2015.  It is located in the Math Sciences (MS) building, Room 142, shown in the map below. It’s available to all undergraduate and graduate students with a major or minor in Computer Science (CPSC) or Computational Media Design (CMD).  This space exists thanks to responsible citizenship and care by those who use the space.

Equipment

Space is stocked with a basic set of fabrication equipment, and a library of electronic hardware that is available for independent student projects. A thourough list can be found on our Wiki.
